How to choose Japanese hairdressing scissors

Global Series

HITACHI 440C is a proven Japanese classic: reliable edge, easy maintenance, contained budget. Choose 5.0"–5.5" for classic finger cutting, 6.0" and up for over-comb work and barbering. The 3D handles (S models) spread thumb effort over long days.

Classic Series

V-GOLD No.1 marks the first real step up: an edge that lasts much longer than standard stainless, with a silkier cutting feel. The CPS sword blade adds bite; the Crane's Hennessy handle relieves the wrist.

Maximum Series

For stylists who want a pure tool: Japanese sword lines, a clean screw without spring plate. The MELODY, with its wedge blade and 3D anamorphic handle, is the signature piece. Several models come in left-handed versions.

Professional Series

Cobalt-alloyed ATS-314 takes heavy days while keeping a constant edge. The PCP covers 5.5" to 7.0". The PAPILLON, a genuine Damascus helix blade, is the house's exceptional piece: the laminated steel absorbs vibration and transforms the feel of the cut.

Designer Series

The camel handle hugs the palm and lightens the hand: this is the comfort series. The DSO comes in four sizes and in left-handed versions — rare on the market. The DSW adds a swivel thumb ring.
