CPS

The CPS is a cutting scissor from the Classic Series range, forged by the Togiya manufacture. Sword blade, semi-offset handle, dial adjustment screw.

This length is made for precision work: scissor-over-finger cutting, outlines, detail around the face, point cutting. It is the most common format in salons, and usually the right choice for a first Japanese pair.

The blade

The sabre blade, narrower and slightly curved, delivers an extremely precise tip: the profile of choice for detail work, outlines and finishing around the face.

In the hand

The semi-offset handle slightly offsets the thumb ring. The wrist stays in its natural axis and the shoulder drops: the most versatile compromise, at ease both in finger work and over the comb. The knurled screw adjusts by hand, mid-cut if needed: half a turn is enough to firm up or loosen the closing.

This model is set up for right-handed users. Available sizes: 5″, 5″, 6″, 0″.

Forged in Inuyama

The Classic Series range comes out of the Togiya manufacture, which controls its whole chain: steel selection, forging, hardening, grinding, then hand sharpening and assembly. That end-to-end control explains the value of Togiya's “Made in Japan”.

Care and lifespan

Wipe the blades at the end of each day, add a drop of oil on the screw and edge, store the pair in its case. Once a year, hand it to a sharpener trained on Japanese blades — never to a standard grinding wheel, which would destroy the convex geometry in a single pass.
